Pepijn Reinderink finished on the podium of the fifth stage and gained one place on the general classification after going on the attack.
The Tour de Luxembourg finished Sunday afternoon, but not before Pepijn Reinderink capitalized again on the great form he displayed throughout the week to make it into the top three and improve his position in the overall ranking of the race.
Numerous hills peppered the 177km course, many of which came in quick succession in the last part of the stage, and it was there that the peloton exploded, behind the breakaway. Andrea Raccagni and Pepijn Reinderink went on the offensive, together with a small group, and despite the others coming back, The Wolfpack didn’t give up. Reinderink went again in the last kilometers, part of a small group from which he sprinted to take third place behind solo winner Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck).
Pepijn - victorious on Friday after an impressive solo ride - got rewarded twice for his brave action, as he moved up to ninth in the final standings of the Tour de Luxembourg for his best ever result in a stage race.
