Our feeder squad continues the event with four riders.
It was another challenging day at the prestigious French race, where our team continued in four after Federico Savino was forced to abandon. The Italian, runner-up at the Tour de Bretagne and National championships this season, started the second stage, but due to pain in his knee after yesterday’s crash, he had to call it a day.
Then, just 36 kilometers from the line, a massive crash took down several riders and prompted the organizers to neutralize the race. More than half an hour later, the stage resumed, but a change was made, as the general classification times were taken at ten kilometers to go.
All the remaining Soudal Quick-Step Devo riders concluded the race safely in the peloton and will now move their attention to the stage between Vierzon and Saint-Vallier, where despite the presence of two small classified climbs, another bunch sprint is very likely to happen.
