Ethan Hayter signed off Soudal Quick-Step’s 15th victory of the season on his home soil, at the Great Britain National ITT Championships. This year’s event took place in Lampeter, in Wales, and the Brit was the last rider to roll down the ramp Thursday afternoon.
Top ten in two of the three individual time trial races he did this season, the 27-year-old Ethan was the main favorite on this 38.4km flat course which consisted of two laps, and confirmed his status by putting in a flawless ride. An average speed of 51.4km/h saw the Brit cross the line in 44:10, more than one minute and a half faster than the two riders who rounded out the podium.
“It’s my second consecutive title and my first victory of the season, so obviously, I’m happy to be on the podium and know that I will keep the jersey for one more year. I liked this course a lot, and as soon as I left the start house, I found my rhythm and kept it the entire time, which shows that I came here with strong legs. We’ll see what I can do on Sunday, when I’m ready to give everything again”, said Ethan, just the third British rider to win gold in the time trial on four occasions (2021, 2022, 2025, 2026).
