Paris-Nice: TTT changes the overall standings

  • Race report

The coveted polka dot jersey remains in the team ahead of Wednesday.

A feature on the “Race to the Sun” since 2023, the team time trial came on the third stage of this year’s edition. Spanning 23.5 kilometers between Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire - Pouilly-sur-Loire, this TTT was regarded by many as one of the most crucial stages of the week, as important time could be gained or lost by those aiming for a strong general classification.

Soudal Quick-Step, with best climber’s classification leader Casper Pedersen in its ranks, was among the early teams to roll down the ramp. Our boys put together a nice effort on the flat and undulating roads of the Nièvre department, averaging 50.8km/h and stopping the clock in 27:43.

It was quite a tough team time trial, and the final part was particularly hard, but the guys managed to keep things together there.

“They left everything out there and can all be proud of their effort, especially since Valentin and Steff managed to move up several places in the ranking”, said sports director Tom Steels.
