Three days of intense racing in Belgium this week.
The Flanders Tomorrow Tour will be our feeder squad’s first appointment of September, a three-day race where our youngsters will aim to be again in the thick of the action and fight for more strong results.
Two half-stages on the opening day, a time trial and an opportunity for the sprinters, followed by another stage for the fast men and one where the attackers should have the upper hand make up the parcours of this edition, which starts from Eernegem, on Friday, and concludes in Nieuwpoort.
Sports director Kevin Hulsmans previewed the race, which Soudal Quick-Step Devo will tackle with Luc Royer, Joeri Schaper, Jasper Schoofs, Matijs Van Strijthem, Lars Vanden Heede, and Marc Zafra.
“We have a strong and versatile team, featuring several solid time trialists, who can already aim for a strong result from the very first stage. The following days will likely be heavily influenced by the wind and could also provide opportunities for a sprint. In Matijs we have a strong sprinter in the team, but also Joeri and Marc can get involved in the sprint finishes. We are really looking forward to competing in this stage race on home roads and are motivated to leave our mark, go on the attack and try to make something special out of it.”
