Soudal Quick-Step Devo to Giro della Valle d’Aosta

  • Development Team

Henrique Bravo and Said Cisneros will both be in action for our feeder squad in Italy.

It’s not just one of the most prestigious races on the U23 calendar, it’s also one of the hardest out there, four demanding days with plenty of climbing and no moment of respite that will crown the winner of this 62nd edition. Among the riders who won it in recent years there’s also Mauri Vansevenant in the season before he turned pro with Soudal Quick-Step, when he became the first Belgian in almost three decades to seal the general classification after a solid and impressive week.

Our Devo team will be in action there between 16-19 July, when it will come to the start with a strong five-man roster capable of leaving its mark on this race that kicks off with an uphill individual time trial and concludes with a mountain top finish. Winner of the Tour of Antalya and Oberösterreich Rundfahrt this year, Henrique Bravo will lead Soudal Quick-Step Devo in Valle d’Aosta, his first outing since concluding a remarkable third at the Giro Next Gen, where he wrote history for Brazil by being on the podium.

The 20-year-old - who finished eighth overall here last season - will be joined by promising Mexican climber Said Cisneros, Tour du Rwanda stage winner Matthijs De Clercq, Gauthier Servranckx, and Marc Zafra.

We go to the start with the aim of fighting for a good result in the general classification.

“There’s no secret that Valle d’Aosta is one of the hardest races of the season for young riders, but we are confident in our chances and the guys we are taking there. Last year, Henrique finished a solid top ten at his debut, and with the help of a strong team, we hope to see him again in contention for a good overall result”, said sports director Steven De Landtsheer.
