Seven young and motivated riders will be in action this Sunday.
La Roue Tourangelle, a race created in 2002 and one of the many events that make up the French Cycling Cup calendar, will be the next appointment of our feeder squad, who so far has enjoyed a great start to the season. The Devo riders have scored a total of four wins, in addition to these taking several other impressive results, and they are now determined to show themselves on the rolling roads of the Centre-Val de Loire region.
Tour du Rwanda stage winner Matthijs De Clercq, Ceriel Desal, Luc Royer, Joeri Schaper, Gauthier Servranckx, Stan Van Tricht - who just last weekend had a solid outing at the GP Monseré - and Marc Zafra will take on the 201km race that features several climbs, some of which come in the last 30 kilometers, when the quick succession of hills is likely to shape the final outcome.
“It’s a beautiful couple, similar to what we used to have in Paris-Tours before the route was changed a couple of years ago. The many climbs spread out on the course should make for a hard day in the saddle, but we have a strong team and this gives us confidence in our chances. The guys can go in the breakaway, but they can also try to get a good result in the finale, so we look forward to Sunday”, explained sports director Wilfried Peeters.
