The versatile German is our first signing for next season.
Tim Torn Teutenberg has agreed a contract with Soudal Quick-Step that will see him ride for the team until the end of 2028. The 24-year-old from Köln turned professional in 2025 and has impressed ever since with his sprint, time trial ability and appetite for the one-day races.
"I'm delighted to join this team. I’ve admired Soudal Quick-Step since I was young and was a big fan of Mark Cavendish when he raced for The Wolfpack. It’s a squad with an extraordinary legacy in the Classics, which are the races where I hope to keep improving. At the same time, I also want to develop as a sprinter, so next season will be about finding the right balance between the two”, said Tim.
Cycling has always been part of Tim’s life, which is unsurprising given his family’s deep-rooted connection to the sport. His grandfather, Horst, spent decades developing cycling in North Rhine-Westphalia, while his father, Lars, enjoyed a successful professional career that included victories at the Tour de Wallonie and Thüringen Rundfahrt. His uncle, Sven, raced at the highest level before later playing a key role in bringing the Tour de France Grand Départ to Düsseldorf, while his aunt, Ina-Yoko Teutenberg, is one of the most successful female cyclists of all time. The family’s cycling tradition continues today through Tim's older sister, Lea Lin Teutenberg, who is also a professional rider.
Tim’s talent was evident long before he joined the professional ranks. Among his standout results as an under-23 rider was victory at Paris-Roubaix Espoirs, and he now hopes to one day make his mark on the World Tour version of the Hell of the North in the colours of Soudal Quick-Step. “I’ve never raced Paris-Roubaix since turning professional, but I hope that by joining this team I’ll get the opportunity to do so and support the squad as best I can in the fight for a great result on the French cobbles.”
I’m also looking forward to riding again alongside Jasper Stuyven, Tim Merlier and Paul Magnier. Real leaders and riders you can learn a lot from, and that’s exactly what I plan to do next season.
