We go with a strong squad to the race scheduled between 13-16 August.
Two general classification wins and eight stage victories - the Czech Tour has been kind to our team, which returns at the start of the four-day event this week. It will be an edition for the climbers, who’ll have three consecutive days to make their mark on the race and fight for the yellow jersey, which last year was won by Junior Lecerf.
Mikel Landa, who is preparing for the season’s last Grand Tour, will headline our seven-man squad for the 17th edition of the race that this year gets underway from the country’s capital, Prague. The experienced Basque will be joined on the start line by Gil Gelders, Pepijn Reinderink, Martin Svrcek, Warre Vangheluwe - making his first appearance since the Spring Classics - Mauri Vansevenant and Gauthier Servranckx.
“I’m happy to be back with The Wolfpack! It has been a long and hard journey, but the team showed incredible support and I hope the bad luck is over now and I can show my potential again”, said Warre ahead of this week’s race.
“We head to the Czech Tour with a balanced team built around the race’s much tougher parcours, favoring the climbers. Our leader is Mikel, who continues his comeback from injury as he builds towards La Vuelta. Together with Mauri and Gianmarco, we have three riders capable of fighting for stage wins on the climbs and also go for a strong general classification”, explained sports director Kevin Hulsmans. “It will be an important race also for Warre, who has been sidelined for a long period, and who will get here an important opportunity to regain race rhythm ahead of the second part of the season.”
