The experienced Belgian sits just outside the overall podium of the Tour de Luxembourg after two stages.
Jasper Stuyven moved up in the general classification of this week’s race after another impressive sprint. The 34-year-old came mere centimeters from scoring a podium finish in Junglinster, where the second stage concluded, and managed to gain a place in the standings ahead of Friday’s demanding trek to Diekirch, which is sure to completely reshuffle the standings.
Soudal Quick-Step was again one of the most active teams in the race, taking long pulls at the front of the peloton behind the breakaway and contributing to the attackers being reeled in long before the finish. Our team entered the last kilometers with four riders, and Stuyven benefitted from a strong lead-out, which helped him capture his 14th top ten of the season.
Jasper isn’t the only rider of our squad well positioned in the overall ranking. Andrea Raccagni also concluded this stage with the main group and sits in ninth place, same time as his teammate.
