Our team will race as T-Rex Quick-Step at next week’s Tour de Pologne.
After making a successful outing last year at the World Tour race, everyone’s favorite T-Rex returns for the edition taking place between 3-9 August. This means that our riders will once again compete in a special Castelli jersey featuring black and gold - the two colors of Soudal’s well-known adhesive - as the race travels from Gdynia to Wieliczka, over more than 1100 kilometers.
T-Rex Quick-Step, as the squad will be known next week in Poland, goes to the start of this 83rd edition with Ayco Bastiaens, Steff Cras, British ITT Champion Ethan Hayter, Paul Magnier - who hit a memorable T-Rex pose as he powered to a stage victory here last year - Maximilian Schachmann, Dries Van Gestel, and neo-pro Jonathan Vervenne.
Two clear opportunities for the sprinters, one chance for the attackers, three uphill finishes (Karpacz, Kocierz, and Bukowina Tatrzanska) and a 12.4km individual time trial held over an undulating parcours will be the seven stages making up the route of the Tour de Pologne, where T-Rex Quick-Step has won a total of 18 stages at the previous participations.

“The first couple of days should normally be for the fast men, and Paul will have a strong supporting cast there to rely on as well as the experience and skills of Dries, his lead-out man. We hope to get a win with him in what will be his first stage race since the Giro d’Italia where he took three stages and the maglia ciclamino, but we also want to be in contention for a nice result in the general classification with Steff and Max”, said sports director Geert Van Bondt.
