Top ten for Hayter in Mayenne prologue

  • Race report

A fast start for the 37th edition of the French race.

Ethan Hayter took his third top ten of the season, and just like on the previous occasions, this result too came in his favourite discipline, the time trial.

The British Champion was one of the six Soudal Quick-Step riders at the start of the Boucles de la Mayenne Thursday evening, and once again produced a fine effort to finish the 5.4km prologue held in Laval as the team’s highest-ranked rider. Hayter averaged 47.84km/h and stopped the clock in 6:46, which put him in tenth place at the end of the day.

Boucles de la Mayennes continues Friday with a stage between Saint-Berthevin and Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne. Despite the parcours not being completely flat, it should be an opportunity for the sprinters, and our squad will try to be in the mix for a good result with Alberto Dainese.
