Soudal Quick-Step’s rider was in the spotlight on the final stage of the Belgium Tour.
Sunday was a special day for Dylan van Baarle, one that the experienced Dutchman will never forget. The fifth stage of the Belgium Tour marked the 33-year-old’s 1000th race day, an incredible milestone that few active pro riders have reached.
In the past 17 seasons, Dylan raced 17 Grand Tours, 29 Monuments, and covered more than 150000 kilometers - numbers that speak volumes of the remarkable career he’s had until now, a career which has seen him win some of cycling’s most prestigious races: Paris-Roubaix, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, and Dwars door Vlaanderen.
“One thousand race days is really something. This morning, when the team told me about it, it made me really think about what it really means and of all these years of hard work to become better and achieve my dreams. I’m happy I could celebrate this milestone together with the Wolfpack”, said Dylan, who went on the attack twice in the final kilometers of the Belgium Tour stage, when he tried to shake things up and prevent the race from coming down to a reduced bunch sprint.
