Two riders in the top three for our feeder squad.

Stan Van Tricht took his first win of the year in the Soudal Quick-Step Devo jersey, Sunday afternoon, when he outsprinted his breakaway companions at the end of the 160km Kemmel Koerse.

A race created in 2020, the Belgian kermises consisted of sixteen laps of a 10km circuit, and as expected, it was full gas from the start Sunday afternoon on Flanders’ roads. Our Devo team, who came there with Stan, Jasper Schoofs, Viktor Soenens, Lars Vanden Heede and Matijs Van Strijthem, made sure of being in the thick of the action the whole time and placing at least a rider in all the important moves.

When a group of eight jumped clear, Van Tricht was there together with Matijs, and both of them put in a solid effort and responded to a series of late accelerations from those hoping to avoid a reduced sprint. The leading group stayed together in the finale, and the 26-year-old Belgian - who raced for the first time since the National Championships - showcased a fantastic turn of legs to take the victory, ahead of Samuel Leroux (Total Energies) and Van Strijthem, who rounded out the podium.

“The race was on from the opening kilometer, with lots of riders going on the attack. When I joined the front group, it helped having Matijs with me. All the riders there cooperated and did a really good job. On a small kicker, I made a selection, and then in the sprint, I felt in full control of things. I am happy with the speed I could show there and with taking the win”, Stan said after the race.
