Last season was the first of Matthijs in the Soudal Quick-Step Devo jersey, one during which he got to learn the trade and found his place in the team. At the same time, the Belgian got a couple of opportunities to show what he’s capable of, and didn’t disappoint, taking promising results at the U23 ITT Nationals and Ruota d’Oro.
Before getting underway his second year with our feeder squad, Matthijs outlined his ambitions: “I feel that I’ve improved a lot in this past year and this is something that gives me confidence I can continue my upward trajectory. I want to do just that, to become better, but also to put my name on the winner’s list. It would be a confirmation of all the hard work I’ve put in.”
