Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Serge Pauwels did his best for a top result at the 152km, 3rd stage of Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey on Tuesday.

Pauwels launched his attack on Cat 1 Gögübeli (1850m) with 7km to go. shortly after one rider left out of an early stage breakaway was caught. Pauwels had a 16" gap with 5km to go, but was eventually caught by two riders and could not maintain contact. Other riders attacked out of the peloton and eventually, the race came down to four riders: Natnael Berhane (Team Europcar), Maxime Mederel (Sojasun), Mustafa Sayar (Torku Sekerspor), and Kevin Seeldraeyers (Astana). Inside the final km, Berhane attacked on a steep section and managed to hold the others off for the victory.  Seeldraeyers was 2nd, Sayar 3rd.
