The 160km Stage 2 of Tour de Suisse, including an HC climb at km 28.7 of 160k, as well as a summit finish on Cat 1 Crans-Montana, came down to a select group, and riders split into pairs and small groups in the final kilometers.
Bauke Mollema (Blanco Pro Cycling Team) was able to get the stage win after catching and dropping Ryder Hesjedal (Garmin-Sharp) on the attack in the final kilometer. Frank Mathias (BMC Racing Team) was 2nd, 11" back from the stage winner. Thibaut Pinot (FDJ) was 3rd.
Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Peter Velits was the top team finisher, in 45th place.
OPQS looks next to a 200km Stage 3 on Monday, with Category 4 and Category 1 climbs at km 168.8 and 183.9 before descending to the finish.
