Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Gianni Meersman finished 5th in the bunch sprint of the 122.8km Tour of Austria Stage 8 on Sunday.
The race came back together in the final 2km, on a very flat stage. Omar Bertazzo (Androni-Venezuela) won the race, with Chris Sutton (Sky ProCycling) taking 2nd. Simone Ponzi was 3rd. Riccardo Zoidl (Team Gourmetfein - Simplon) won the overall. OPQS rider Dries Devenyns finished 5th overall (+1'20"). Gianluca Brambilla finished 17th (+5'21").
