Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Dries Devenyns was the top finisher in the 189.7km Stage 1 of Tour de Wallonie on Saturday. Devenyns, Nikolas Maes, Tom Boonen, and Kristof Vandewalle made a 45 rider select group in the final, but five riders attacked with about 17km to go and stayed away until the finish line.
Alexandr Kolobnev (Katusha) won the stage, with Anthony Geslin (FDJ) taking 2nd and Julien Berard (AG2R - La Mondiale) placing 3rd. Devenyns was the top OPQS finisher, in 16th place. OPQS looks next to a 174.4km stage tomorrow.
