Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Gianni Meersman was the team's top finisher of the 197km GP Impanis - Van Petegem on Saturday, as the race did not end up in a predicted bunch sprint.
Sep Vanmarcke (Belkin Pro Cycling Team) won the stage, besting Pieter Weening (ORICA Green-EDGE). The duo stayed away and finished 7 seconds ahead of 3rd place finisher Jerome Baugnies (To Win - Josan Cycling Team). Meersman finished 12th in a group 43" back from the winner.
