Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team has announced the selection that will participate in Tour de l'Eurométropole (Circuit Franco Belge), a 685.3km stage race from October 3rd to October 6th.
Tour de l'Eurométropole is a race along the borders of France and Belgium.
"This race, among the smaller stage races, is certainly not one of the easiest," Sport Director Tom Steels said. "It is one of the most difficult because of the wind and the continuous up and down of the parcours. It is a race where you have to always be there, to be present in the actions. It also features a strong list of participants. The winner is usually an all-rounder, good in the sprints but also able to survive on the small climbs. Riders like Nikolas Maes can use this race to suit their skills, as he won a race similar to this at the World Ports Classic. The same can be said of Guillaume Van Keirsbulck who is also strong in this type of race. But of course we have other young guys like Carlos Verona, where we would like them to get a good experience and also try to get a good result."
