Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Alessandro Petacchi finished 5th in the longest stage of Tour of Beijing on Saturday, a 201.5km second stage that featured four categorized climbs, but still ended in a bunch sprint finale.
Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ) won the stage, with Roberto Ferrari (Lampre-Merida) placing 2nd and Mitchell Docker (ORICA - GreenEDGE) finishing 3rd.
The peloton caught a solo rider remaining out of an original breakaway of five riders inside the 10km remaining mark.
Nikolas Maes is now 8th GC, 6" back from Bouhanni.
OPQS looks next to a seven climb, 176km Stage 3 on Sunday.
