Today the People's Choice Classic opened the cycling season in Australia. The criterium of 50 kilometres was a warming up for the Tour Down Under, which starts Tueday. The race ended in a bunch sprint, with two OPQS riders finishing in the top-10.

In the bunch sprint Marcel Kittel (Giant-Shimano) took the first win of the season in front of Andre Greipel (Lotto-Belisol) and Caleb Ewan. OPQS riders Julian Alaphilippe and Mark Renshaw ended both in the top-10 of the race, as 6th and 7th.
