Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Gianluca Brambilla was the top finisher on a 170.6km Stage 2 of Tour de San Luis that included a finale on Cat. 1 climb Mirador del Potrero (4.8km, 6.7% average gradient) on Tuesday.

The race came back together inside the final 10km after an original five rider breakaway dwindled to just a couple of riders. Julian Arredondo (Trek Cycling) and Peter Stetina (BMC Racing Team) emerged after a late race attack to decide the stage. Arredondo won the two-up sprint, with Stetina and Nairo Quintana (Movistar) rounding out the podium. Brambilla finished 33rd.

OPQS looks next to a 175.8km Stage 3 on Wednesday. The stage has only one categorized climb, but also has some small undulating sections, including a slight uphill final three kilometers.
