The second stage of the Tour Down Under finished in another group sprint, but on an uphill section this time. OPQS riders Serge Pauwels and Jan Bakelants were in the front of the bunch, while Carlos Verona defended his best young rider jersey.
Diego Ulissi (Lampre Merida) took the stage win after a stage of almost 4 hours. He beated Simon Gerrans (Orica - Greenedge) and Cadel Evans (BMC) in a tough sprint. Serge Pauwels was OPQS` top finisher in 24th place, shortly followed by Jan Bakelants (27th). Carlos Verona didn`t lose time today and will wear the best young rider jersey again tomorrow.
