Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Gianni Meersman finished just outside the podium in 116km Trofeo Palma on Sunday, placing 4th in a predicted sprint finish.
The race came back together with about 18km to go in the race. Sacha Modolo (Lampre-Merida) won the stage, with Jens Debusschere (Lotto-Belisol) placing 2nd and Dylan Groenwegen 3rd.
OPQS looks next to Trofeo Ses Salines, a 183km race that is more undulating than Trofeo Palma, but still leaves the possbility for a group finish. OPQS is allowed to pick 10 riders out of 12 that arrived during each one-day race of the Trofeo Mallorca series.
