After going on the attack with three other riders and gaining a small gap with 2km to go, Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Zdenek Stybar still managed a 6th place finish when he and his break mates were caught approaching the final kilometer of racing.
Andre Greipel (Lotto-Belisol) won the bunch sprint finale. Peter Sagan (Cannondale) was 2nd, and Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ) was 3rd. Greipel is now the overall leader.
OPQS rider Matteo Trentin was also 9th, placing two from the team in the top 10. Tom Boonen is the top OPQS rider in the GC after Stage 3, in 6th place (+16").
OPQS looks next to 173km Stage 4, with back-to-back climbs beginning from kilometer 106 until the Climb of Bousher Alamrat summit (kilometer 160.5). The race then descends to another flat finish. There are also two intermediate sprints.
