Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team riders Rigoberto Uran and Jan Bakelants finished 20th and 21st in the 180.2km 3rd Stage of Tour de Romandie on Friday.
The stage, which featured four Category 1 climbs, shattered the peloton and left the stage, and possibly also GC contention, down to a small selection of riders in the final kilometers. It was Chris Froome (Team Sky) and Simon Spilak (Katusha) who attacked out of that group and decided the stage in a two-up sprint. Spilak won, with Froome 2nd, and Rui Costa (Lampre-Merida) 3rd out of a small group 57" behind.
Kwiatkowski, who won the prologue, and Tony Martin, who was 7th in the GC, were unable to maintain contact with the main group as the race progressed.
OPQS looks next to an undulating, but much flatter Stage 4 on Saturday. There is only a single Category 3 climb to ascend.
