| Sunday 11 May 2014 - 17:38

Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Alessandro Petacchi finished 17th in the group arrival of 187km Giro d'Italia Stage 3, finishing in Dublin, on Sunday.

Due to the 2nd place of OPQS in the Stage 1 TTT, Petacchi was put in good position to move up to 2nd place in the GC with his top 20 finish in the stage.

Marcel Kittel (Giant-Shimano) won his second stage so far, with Ben Swift (Team Sky) 2nd and Elia Viviani (Cannondale Pro Cycling) 3rd.

OPQS did a great job protecting leader Rigoberto Uran (+10"), who is now 9th in the GC as the race moves on to Italy. Pieter Serry is also 10th.

Tomorrow is the first rest day of the Giro d'Italia.
