Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Julien Vermote finished 17th in the group arrival of medium mountain, 211km Stage 7 of the Giro d'Italia.
Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ.fr) won the stage, with Giacomo Nizzolo (Trek Factory Racing) 2nd and Luka Mezgec (Giant-Shimano) 3rd.
OPQS leader Rigoberto Uran was well protected by his teammates, arriving in 19th place after an original breakaway was caught in the final kilometers and the peloton battled for sprint position. Alessandro Petacchi was also 21st.
This will likely be the last group arrival for the next couple of stages, as the next two are uphill finishes. There is also a rest day on Monday.
