Etixx - Quick-Step rider Rigoberto Uran finished 40th in the 264km 7th Stage of the Giro d'Italia on Friday. The longest stage of the three-week Grand Tour came down to a group arrival, with Diego Ulissi (Lampre-Merida) launching up the middle for the victory ahead of Juan Jose Lobato (Movistar) in 2nd, and Simon Gerrans (Orica-GreenEDGE) in 3rd.

Alberto Contador remains the race leader. Uran is currently 12th in the overall classification, 1'22" down.

The race came back together with 20km to go, and there were no attacks going into the anticipated group arrival.

Etixx - Quick-Step looks next to a Caegory 1 Summit finish for 186km Stage 8 on Saturday. The entire stage is up-and-down, with the top of a Category 2 climb at the 80.7km mark as the parcours starts in Fiuggi and ends at Campitello Matese.
