Omega Pharma – Quick-Step Cycling Team has officially announced the formations that will take part in two Belgian races, the Nokere Koerse and the Handzame Classic.
"The athletes who will take part in these two traditional races on the Belgian calendar are part of the group of young riders who have given us some enormous satisfaction in the beginning of this season," explained Sports Director Tom Steels. "By racing together these guys will learn to refine the team mechanisms and fight for victory. Last year at Nokere, Steegmans made his mark. This year, too, we will try to battle for victory on a slightly uphill, cobblestone final that is well suited to the skills of some of our riders. On Friday we will race at Handzame, a race that shouldn't be too difficult but which could be made hard by the wind that is usually predominant in this area of Belgium."
