Dries Devenyns will not take part in Milano-San Remo. Due to a fall in the second-to-last stage of the Paris-Nice last Saturday, Devenyns suffered a fractured acromion in his left shoulder, as was verified by x-rays taken on Monday in Belgium when the rider returned from the Paris Nice.
"This is a terrible time for me," explained Devenyns. "I was really enjoying a period of top form and I was ready to race the San Remo. Unfortunately these things happen and there's nothing I can do about it; considering the seriousness of the fall, it could have been even worse. Now my goal is to try to heal well and get back to the races as soon as possible."
Devenyns' return to competition will depend on how his clinical situation evolves.
