With the Grand Tours now in the can, we turn our attention to the final events of the season.
Autumn has come, and with it, also the spectacular one-day races that always deliver thrill and a fight for the win down to the wire. One of these events is the Grand Prix Briek Schotte, which bears the name of one of the finest Belgian riders in history, a two-time winner of both Tour of Flanders and World Championships.
Desselgem – which is set to take the field over a 155km-long course that mixes hills and cobbles – is more or less a home race for Etixx – Quick-Step, with our team taking the honors here in multiple occasions over the past decade, most recently in 2014.
Six Etixx – Quick-Step riders will be up for the challenge in the 74th edition of the race: neo-pros Rodrigo Contreras and Davide Martinelli, Iljo Keisse, double winner Guillaume Van Keirsbulck, as well as trainees Ivan Cortina and František Sisr, who are coming from feeder-team Klein Constantia.
