In January, we kicked-off a season-long series focused on unknown things about our riders. Very likely, everybody is aware how the Etixx – Quick-Step riders came into the sport or what are their biggest results to date, but few or none know what movies and music they enjoy, or where they like to spend their holidays. Here's your chance to find out all these.
Superstitions: In my suitcase I have a photo of my wife and my daughter, and also one of my mother, who passed away a couple of years ago. In my mind and soul, she is always by my side.
Favourite movies: When it comes to films, I like comedies, especially vintage ones, with Louis de Funes. He was a comic genius and he made all the movies in which he played memorable. It doesn't matter that his films are half a century old, I laugh every time I watch them.
Favourite music: I'm into electro and house music. Martin Solveig is my favourite DJ, because his songs make me smile and get me in the mood for dancing every single time. I always have him in my playlist in a training camp or during a stage race.
Favourite books: I never say no to a good biography and try as much as possible to have one with me when I'm away from home. Before going to sleep, I like to read a couple of pages, as this relaxes me.
Other sports I follow: I live in Marseille, so when I can I go to Stade Velodrome to watch a game of Olympique de Marseille. I also like to cheer for the French athletes in winter sports, like Martin and Simon Fourcade, or Maurice Manificat. Actually, when there's anything sport-related on TV and I have some time, I watch it. Even if there's a small cycling race in the city or not far away from Marseille, I like to go there and watch it.
