The staff forgot about their daily activities for two days and got involved in several fun and challenging enterprises.
At the beginning of the week, the Etixx – Quick-Step staff gathered at Durbuy, in the Belgian province of Luxembourg, for a two-day team building which saw 40 of its members get divided into six groups and travel to an adventure park, where, assisted by qualified personnel, they took part in a series of fun activities – from rock climbing to tyrolean and tactical competitions – meant to create a strong bond and help them take their mind off the daily routine.
The team building, which followed a well-defined schedule designed by sport director Tom Steels, the man behind Etixx – Quick-Step's resounding victory at the World TTT Championships, concluded with a barbecue and a beer, and will be followed in December by the traditional winter training camp, during which the foundations for the 2017 season will be laid.
"We had a great time in Durbuy. It was a short team building, but we did a lot of stuff, which is always fun. It's the off-season, there's no racing involved and it was really nice to sit together, give the new guys an opportunity to find their place in the team and just relax, while using the time spent together as starting point for next year", said Tom Steels at the end of the day.
