Days ago, Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team announced it wants to embrace its Belgian roots, and engage with fans on a more intimate level prior to Gent-Wevelgem. On Saturday March 24, the team will be present around the start and finish of the cyclo in Wevelgem. If there is good weather some riders of our team will race a 45km tour around 10:00 a.m CET. However, there is far more than racing involved, and we want to make sure our fans are there to interact with the team.Therefore, we're releasing more details.
The address of the event is Vanackerestraat, Wevelgem (naast het Gemeentehuis/Next to the Town Hall). The start time of the cyclo is between 7:30 and 10 a.m. CET. Fans can park at Deken Jonckheere, Wevelgem.
Patrick Lefevere and Wilfried Peeters will be the staff in attendance, and the riders who will attend will be known in the very near future. If you need help finding the fan village, look for our team bus near the start of the race. Our fleet will be there too! You can get insight into what our team bus looks like from the inside, and check out our bikes, as well as our team shop. If that isn't enough, there will be interviews on the podium before the start of the cyclo, as well as between noon and 12:30 CET during the race. Finally, compete in various contests for prizes such as a VIP Day in the race, a race clothing set, a fan package, and a Q8 tank voucher!
