The Belgian Champion was the best Quick-Step Floors rider on stage 4.

Villars-sur-Ollon returned at the Tour de Suisse for the first time in 19 years, this time as the race's first mountain top finish. If two decades ago an Italian rider took the win at the top of the 9.7km climb, this time the spoils went to Larry Warbasse (Aqua Blue Sport), from the US, who was part of the breakaway which took off soon after the start, putting more than eight minutes between them and the peloton. Damiano Caruso (BMC) finished second and is the new overall leader of the event, while Steven Kruijswijk (LottoNL-Jumbo) rounded out the podium.

Philippe Gilbert, who last week-end nabbed his first career victory at the Tour de Suisse, was Quick-Step Floors' top finisher on this tough 143km-long stage between Bern and Villars-sur-Ollon, and he's now also the team's best placed rider in the general classification, with five days to go.

Stage 5 of the Tour de Suisse is scheduled on Wednesday and brings on the course the legendary Simplonstrasse, before a softer second part of the stage, which could see a regrouping as the bunch will head to Cevio.
