Quick-Step Floors Cycling and 6d Sports Nutrition Team are pleased to announce their partnership for this season.
6d Sports Nutrition is a 100% evidence-based sports nutrition brand that surged from a collaboration between Bakala Academy at the University of Leuven, a long-time scientific partner of the Quick-Step Floors Cycling Team, and Medix Laboratoires, a leading Belgian based manufacturer of food supplements. They are now joining forces with the most successful cycling team on the WorldTour for six consecutive years.
6d stands for 'six dimensions': scientifically based, guaranteed doping-free, pure ingredients, high-end manufacturing, containing the latest innovations and tested by athletes.
"We are happy and proud to welcome 6d Sports Nutrition aboard! Having the right nutrition is more important than ever before, it is an essential part of pro cycling today, and in 6d Sports Nutrition we have found a reliable partner who'll bring an important input throughout the season." Patrick Lefevere (CEO Quick-Step Floors Cycling Team) explains and continues: "They value the same traits that have become defining for Quick-Step Floors Cycling Team since our beginning, and we are confident this will turn out to be a rewarding relationship for both parties."
Peter Hespel (Scientific Director Bakala Academy) was quick to echo the same enthusiasm. "We consider it our mission at Bakala Academy to share our scientific knowledge and innovations in all fields with both elite and recreational athletes. We have noticed that the awareness of athletes concerning their nutrition and supplements has very much increased over the past years and so has the demand for trustworthy, transparent and quality products."
Bakala Academy is very excited to expand their collaboration with Quick-Step Floors Cycling Team and 6d Sports Nutrition: "We will only develop scientifically based products with proven effect that will answer all of the riders' needs."
For Andy Baert (CEO Medix Laboratoires), this new-found collaboration was a logical next step. "We are of course very pleased with this type of partnership, associating ourselves with the world's leading cycling team. Quick-Step Floors Cycling Team has shown to be of enormous quality over the past decades, the same type of quality we want to stand for. For that reason, over the past years, we have invested strongly in innovation through high-end manufacturing, controlling and tracing mechanisms."
