Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team became the top ranked UCI WorldTour Team in the world, with 397 points. This complements the top ranking of rider Tom Boonen, who moved into first place individually last weekend with his Ronde van Vlaanderen victory.

"It's nice to be number one again after a while," Patrick Lefevere said. "The first position rewards the team by the great start of the season. We could have done even better with the points Levi Leipheimer lost at Paris-Nice but those kind of things are part of the game — even other teams lost points because of crashes. Beside the world tour classification we are happy about the performance of our collective group. We won 29 races with 10 different riders, which is not so easy. Tomorrow everything can change again on the ranking, but it won't cancel our great start. The team is in a positive mood. I hope we can continue like this even in the upcomings events. Tom and his teammates these last three weeks did a great job to put us on the top of the UCI World Tour ranking. But we have also other riders who can contribute to our classification in the near future."
