The duo have amassed the biggest haul of points halfway through the competition.
Best sprinter of the 2018 road season, Elia Viviani proved that he is still in form despite putting a stop to his astonishing campaign two months ago, surging to an electrifying victory in the scratch race. The win netted by the six-time European Track Champion gave wings to the Deceuninck – Quick-Step Team, which went on to notch up two more podiums on the third night.
One of these came in the form of another spectacular victory, brought by the "King of the Kuipke", Iljo Keisse, who remained composed in the second Derny series and outclassed all his opponents, before taking runner-up in the grand final. Thanks to these two solid displays, the duo continues to have the most number of points at the Six Days of Gent, where things are far from being decided as the riders get ready for the second half of the week, which promises to be more intense and thrilling than anything we've had so far.
