Deceuninck – Quick-Step’s Czech rider takes a convincing victory in the mountain bike race held in Slovakia.

The 33-year-old rider was taking part in the event organised by the CK EPIC Dohnany, in partnership with Deceuninck – Quick-Step sponsor Janom. Zdenek came at the start of the 65km long race for the first time, and he took time to pass on his advice and support to local youngsters lining out in the event and participating in the podium presentation.

“It is always great to win, and triumphing in a MTB race makes it even more special. It was a real pleasure to be here, because Janom have supported cycling for a long time and I had a lot of fun taking part in such a beautiful event. It was really extraordinary to see so many young people interested in cycling and hopefully they will enjoy it for years to come”, said Stybar after Saturday’s race.

It’s the fourth win of the season for Zdenek, who in the spring came out on top at both Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and E3 Harelbeke, thus becoming the first ever Czech rider to conquer a cobbled classic.
