The agreement will continue for the next two years.
Deceuninck – Quick-Step, recently crowned 2019 UCI World Team Classification winners, have partnered with 6d Sports Nutrition for the past two seasons, which has coincided with unprecedented success for the Wolfpack, and the new deal will see the two parties work together until at least the end of 2021.
6d Sports Nutrition is developing in a partnership between Bakala Academy and Medix Laboratoires pure, and produce scientifically based sports beverages and sports nutrition supplements for recreational and professional athletes. They partner several successful teams and athletes from across the sporting spectrum, bringing together a myriad of knowledge on how to fuel athletes for success. It is no coincidence that their period working with the team has coincided with one of the most successful spells in Deceuninck – Quick-Step’s history, with 6d fuelling the team’s 141 UCI victories during 2018 and 2019, including four Monuments and over 20 Grand Tour stages.
Head of Deceuninck – Quick-Step’s medical team, Toon Cruyt said of the new deal: “We are very happy to be able to work closely with 6d again for another two years. They have catered perfectly for the team’s needs during the successful period that we have been working with them, offering a wide range of products that fuel the riders before, during and after training and racing. They are also always ahead of the game when it comes to product development and we are looking forward to seeing their ideas for the coming years.”
These thoughts were echoed by Deceuninck – Quick-Step CEO Patrick Lefevere: “We are happy to add some continuity by reaching an agreement with 6d. They are a huge part of the success we have had in the past two years and I am looking forward to them being so even more in the future.”
Andy Baert, owner of 6d Sports Nutrition, added: “We are of course very pleased with the extension of our partnership and associating ourselves with the world’s best cycling team with the same goals and ideals.”
