Nothing is decided yet at the prestigious event ahead of the last day.
Consistency paid off for Iljo Keisse and Mark Cavendish on the penultimate night of the Six Days of Gent, as the two cemented their place on the podium thanks to a solid string of results, which included a victory and four top 3 finishes, to the delight of the numerous fans who came to watch the dozen or so races that took place on Saturday.
Keisse’s win in the second Derny race, which came after the 36-year-old Belgian expertly upped the tempo on the final lap and pipped his opponent on the line, was the cherry on the top, together with the other results scored throughout the night helping the Maes 0.0% – The Wolfpack team cut the deficit to the leaders to just 13 points, after starting the session 25 points behind.
With their chances of final victory intact, Iljo Keisse and Mark Cavendish are prepared to go all-in on Sunday afternoon, when the overall winners will be crowned after eleven races, with the Madison set to bring the curtain down over the 79th edition.
