Everyone knows how the Deceuninck – Quick-Step riders came into the sport or what are their most important results to date, but few know what movies and music they enjoy, or where they like to spend their holidays. Here’s your chance to find out all these things.
Favourite TV series: “That would be Breaking Bad, Narcos, and Mad Men, the latter being my all-time favourite. Mad Men is really well-written, intensely clever, has a brilliant plot development rhythm and a masterful way of showing various human experiences. All these are elements which make you click with it. It’s a perfect show in every sense, absolute genius.”
Favourite music: “Well, it depends a lot on the mood, but I listen to everything – from rap to pop to R&B. When I am training, on my playlist you can find mostly electric music, in order to get myself pumped up.”
Favourite holiday destination: “I would like to visit some countries in Latin America and Africa, but if I were to name the country which I would like the most to discover, that would be the Philippines. I find it fascinating and I hope that one day I will go there.”
Favourite food: “Italian cuisine, from pasta to pizza and from tiramisu to cannoli, I love it all, it’s just amazing. The beautiful thing about Italian food is that it’s so simple and at the same time so good.”
Other sports I follow: “Formula 1 and basketball. I like Lewis Hamilton’s style and I was glad to see him capture another world title. I also like basketball, and whenever I have the opportunity, I try to attend a game. Not just here in Europe, but also in the US. I have some friends in Philadelphia and when I visit them, I go to watch the 76ers, which have become my favourite team.”
