Digital Swiss 5 continued Saturday afternoon, with its penultimate appointment.
On paper, Race 4 of the indoor series was much flatter than what the riders had to face on the previous days, but the effort was still intense, with the 36.76km-long course between Oberlangenneg and Langnau – which consisted of two climbs and a long descent to the finish – taking its toll on the participants.
Zdenek Stybar, who together with Kasper Asgreen and Tim Declercq represented Deceuninck – Quick-Step, talked us through his day in the virtual world: “It was something different than what we are used to, I can tell you that. We had some 50 minutes of very hard effort right from the beginning and you could feel how tough it was. It was interesting to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Tour de Suisse from the balcony, and even though I wouldn’t go as far as saying it was a fun experience, it was a nice event, as it gave us the opportunity to get back into that race mode that we all miss so much.”
For the last race of the Digital Swiss 5, which takes place Sunday afternoon, our team will line up Julian Alaphilippe, João Almeida and Rémi Cavagna.
