Everyone knows how the Deceuninck – Quick-Step riders came into the sport or what are their most important results to date, but few know what movies and music they enjoy, or where they like to spend their holidays. Here’s your chance to find out all these things.
Favourite movies and TV series: I like adventure and action movies. Top Gun and Pearl Harbor are my two favourite films, but I also enjoy the Pirates of the Carribean and Harry Potter series, they are fun to watch. After discovering Netflix a few years ago, I began watching a lot of shows – Prison Break, Vikings and Jack Ryan being just some of the ones I like.
Favourite holiday destination: I like to sprint and I love the cobblestones, but when it comes to holidays, I never say no to the mountains. My dream is to travel to Peru one day and visit Machu Pichu, which I find to be incredibly fascinating. I would also like to go to Lapland, although it’s not easy, as the temperatures are super cold there.
Favourite comics: When I was a kid, I used to read a lot of them. Even now, I have at home more than 200 issues of Topolino, and that’s thanks to my grandmother, who used to buy me one every week.
Favourite video games: Call of Duty. I discovered it last year, in November, and it’s amazing. At the same time, I try to limit the number of hours I play it, because you get immersed into that world and end up playing it a lot. From time to time, I play also some racing games, like Need for Speed or Fomula 1.
Other sports I watch: Alpine skiing, basketball – in my hometown we have a very good team, Pallacanestro Cantù – and swimming. Before I got into cycling, I discovered swimming and I absolutely loved it. I was pretty good at it too: at the age of 13, I became National Champion in the 50m and 100m butterfly races.
