Everyone knows how the Deceuninck – Quick-Step riders came into the sport or what are their most important results to date, but few know what movies and music they enjoy, or where they like to spend their holidays. Here’s your chance to find out all these things.
Favourite movie: “Karate Kid”, the 1984 one, the original one. Pat Morita, Ralph Macchio, Cobra Kai, the All Valley Karate Tournament. How can you not love it?
Favourite TV series: “Two and a half men”. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel it is the really best comedy show there was, well-written and with plenty of cracking situations.
Favourite video games: It’s been a while, but “Need for Speed” was always a favourite growing up, I could really feel the adrenaline pumping every time I played it.
Favourite holiday destination: Lake Benmore, New Zealand’s largest artificial lake. It’s such a peaceful and stunning place, the views are really breathtaking and I just love it there. You can do all sorts of things, from walking and biking to fishing or just having a nice and relaxing time with your friends.
Best day on the bike: That has to be the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where I won the gold medal on the track in the scratch race. It was one of the best days of my life! Being there on the podium and hearing the national anthem, that felt truly amazing.
