Episode 1 of this three-part series is a cracking one!
When the 2020 season resumed after the enforced three-month break caused by the pandemic, it was already the end of July and the riders began traveling here and there for some short stage races. But things restarted in earnest a couple of days later, in Italy, where a never-before-seen seven-day period of racing kicked off, comprising three prestigious one-day events: Strade Bianche, Milano-Torino and Milano-Sanremo.
On the first weekend of August, under a sweltering sun, the riders took on Tuscany’s famous roads caked in dust and dirt, in what was arguably the toughest edition of Strade Bianche since the race’s inception, in 2007. La Pédale, who joined the Wolfpack during our stay in Italy, were on site to capture Deceuninck – Quick-Step’s battle with not just the relentless up-and-down course, but also with the bad luck and extreme heat that ended up having a major impact on how things went that Saturday.
Featuring the likes of Julian Alaphilippe, Kasper Asgreen, Pieter Serry and Zdenek Stybar, The Wolfpack Insider: Strade Bianche is what you need to keep you warm on these cold winter days as you eagerly wait for next season to start.
