It’s the oldest race on the calendar, and this year it smiled to the sprinters. Deceuninck – Quick-Step came at the start just four days after a gruelling edition of Strade Bianche with the aim of being in the mix at the finish with Sam Bennett, who was hoping to become the first Irish winner in history.
